Lite Strategy Backs LitVM with $1M as Testnet Hits 7M Wallets

Lite Strategy led a $1M investment into LitVM while the LiteForge testnet crossed seven million wallet addresses and launched a community quest.

Week of Built from 8 filings

Lite Strategy led a $1 million investment round in LitVM this week to support the development of smart contract infrastructure on Litecoin. The funding announcement coincided with the LiteForge testnet surpassing seven million unique wallet addresses, according to project metrics. In addition, the team highlighted the cryptographic design of its zkLTC bridge and launched an interactive community quest on CoinMarketCap.

Lite Strategy Leads $1 Million Investment Round

According to an industry report shared by the Litecoin Foundation, Lite Strategy led a $1 million investment into the LitVM Layer 2 platform.

In a statement outlining its thesis, Lite Strategy stated that more than $72 billion is currently locked in onchain finance, but virtually none of that activity has taken place on Litecoin due to its inability to support native smart contracts. Lite Strategy noted that LitVM is built to solve this issue while ensuring that network execution fees continue to be paid in LTC. The investment firm stated that the rollup will enable lending markets similar to Ethereum-based decentralized finance, allow tokenized assets to settle directly against Litecoin, and provide developer rails for financial applications to build on the existing payment network.

LiteForge Testnet Surpasses 7 Million Unique Addresses

Alongside the funding milestone, LitVM reported that the LiteForge testnet has crossed 7 million unique wallet addresses.

In conjunction with testnet activity, LitVM announced the release of an Early Supporters Quest hosted on CoinMarketCap Community. The initiative asks community members to complete specific tasks across the LiteForge ecosystem, offering participants an opportunity to compete for a share of a 2,000 USDT reward pool.

Cryptographic Bridging and Yield Frameworks

Technical updates this week centered on asset transfers between the base layer and the rollup. LitVM stated that the zkLTC gas token utilizes zero-knowledge proofs to establish trustless bridging from Litecoin, eliminating the requirement for third-party custodians or centralized intermediaries in favor of cryptographic proof.

Expanding on network applications, LitVM posted that after operating as a transactional asset for 14 years, Litecoin is positioned to function as a yield-bearing asset through decentralized exchanges, lending pools, and automated DeFi strategies built directly on LitVM.
